Automobili Lamborghini 60° is an all-Italian, limited-edition writing collection designed and manufactured by Montegrappa in collaboration with Automobili Lamborghini, to be available at selected boutiques worldwide in September. Key product information is as follows:
− Sixty years of dream designs provide the inspiration for an all-Italian writing collection that revels in the legacy of the legendary Automobili Lamborghini. Created by Montegrappa in collaboration with the House of Sant'Agata Bolognese, Automobili Lamborghini 60° fuses advanced materials, mechanical prowess and futuristic design to pay tribute to an Italian icon as it celebrates its 60th anniversary throughout 2023;
− Automobili Lamborghini 60° charges the senses with fountain pen and rollerball configurations that channel the mechanical and aesthetic audacity of Automobili Lamborghini into a high-performance, handheld tool. Offered in six factory colours, editions of sixty fountain pens and rollerballs tap the emotion and spirit of the luxury marque founded by Ferruccio Lamborghini in 1963;
− Pure surfaces, precise contours and determined proportions provide the sensorial pillars of a supercharged silhouette that tests the boundaries of writing instrument design and engineering. Design codes from the fabled House of Sant’Agata Bolognese feature throughout an ultra-light, hexagonal profile made from numerically-milled aerospace aluminium and clad in forged carbon fibre;
− Next-level mechanical performance is baked into the ethos of Automobili Lamborghini 60°. On fountain pens, Montegrappa’s rare, elite-grade Power-Push mechanism offers writers the speed of one-touch filling. Meanwhile, both modes are equipped with a one-step release system developed for rapid ink chamber access. Inspired by Automobili Lamborghini’s iconic start button guard, a red alloy flip switch located on the pen’s base operates a mechanical complication never previously integrated into a luxury writing instrument;
− Further mechanical treatments include a threadless cap, while identity elements include a Y-shaped clip made from stamped black alloy, and a hexagonal name plate brandishing the luxury maker’s 60º Anniversario emblem. On fountain pens, Automobili Lamborghini’s famous shield shines in gold, engraved into a
reference-level, ruthenium-plated 18K gold nib. All examples are delivered in a black 60th Anniversary collector case;
− Colours offered across the edition echo Lamborghini’s unique palette, with a choice of bold body finishes in high-gloss – Arancio Apodis (orange), Bianco Siderale (white) and Verde Viper (green) –with Blu Aegeus (blue); Grigio Titans (grey) and Nero Noctis (black) in matt;
− Adapting external design codes to the shape and functional demands of high-performance writing instruments requires special expertise and extensive prototyping. The collaborative design and development process for Automobili Lamborghini 60° spanned a total of 24 months;
